Ownership disclosure
Oil Radar LI is owned and run by Patricia Milano, who also owns Domino Fuel Inc., All Island Comfort and Discount Fuel. All 3 companies sell heating oil and appear in our price tables.
- Every dealer, including Domino Fuel Inc., All Island Comfort and Discount Fuel, is ranked by the same rule: the lowest current price for 150 gallons first.
- Prices for Domino Fuel Inc., All Island Comfort and Discount Fuel are read from the same public online-ordering page their customers use, on the same schedule as everyone else, and go through the same sanity checks.
- The price table is always sorted by price. A spot labeled “Featured” may sometimes appear above the table; it never changes the table's order.
- You can always order directly from any dealer; we don't take orders or payments.
How prices are collected
An automated checker visits each dealer's own website about once per run, identifies itself in its user agent, and follows each site's robots.txt rules and crawl delays. It reads the posted per-gallon price for 100, 150 and 200 gallons, the cash and card price where both are shown, and any fees the page lists. For dealers that only show a price after you enter a ZIP code, it enters one or two sample ZIP codes per county and nothing else. It never enters names, emails, phone numbers or addresses, never places orders, and does not get around captchas, logins or “are you human” checks. Dealers whose prices sit behind those are listed with a link to their site or phone number instead.
Each reading is checked before it is shown: prices outside $2–$9 per gallon, or more than 15% away from that dealer's previous reading, are held for review rather than published.
Limits
Dealers can change prices at any time, and many add sales tax, card fees, small-delivery or after-hours charges. Ratings and delivery notes come from our research and may be out of date. Please confirm the price and any fees with the dealer before ordering.
